Who we are
MIC FIT is the platform fitness clubs run their apps on. Members use a club’s own app (for example www.micfit.app) to see the club’s classes, book a place, keep their class packs, message the club and take part in free challenges. The apps run on the MIC FIT platform, made and operated by MIC FIT, which is the data controller. The club you join (its owner, managers and instructors) uses the app to run its classes. This policy covers the website, the installed home-screen app and the emails, text messages and notifications the app sends.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: your name and email address, and your phone number if you sign in by text message.
- Details the club asks for when you join: date of birth, address, an emergency contact’s name and phone, and a note for your instructor if you choose to leave one. A club may also ask you to accept its waiver and class rules; we keep the fact that you accepted, and when.
- What you do in the app: classes you book, attend or cancel; packs you buy and payments you report; challenges you join and the days you tick; friends you invite and accept; messages you send the club; and the settings you choose.
- Technical information: the sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, your push notification subscription if you turn notifications on, and the server logs our hosting provider keeps for a short time (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time), used only to run and secure the service.
We do not collect payment card numbers: payments are made to the club directly, and the app records only that a pack was bought.
Google account data
When you sign in with Google, the app accesses your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account, and nothing else: never your password, contacts, calendar, files or anything else in your Google account. It uses them only to create or recognise your account and to show your name in the app. It stores the name and email address in your account record for as long as the account exists; the profile picture is not stored. It shares them with nobody outside the club and the service providers listed below, and never sells them. The same applies to Sign in with Facebook. Deleting your account removes them.
How we use it
- To create your account, sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To book classes, keep your packs and challenges, and show you what is coming up.
- To let the club reach you about classes you booked: a cancellation, a change of time, a reminder, a message from the studio.
- To show your friends your progress and your name on a class, when you allow it.
- To answer your messages and keep the club’s attendance and payment records.
- To keep the service secure and to find and fix problems.
We do not use it to profile you. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers, except as the next section says.
Sharing your details with MIC FIT and its partners
MIC FIT runs this platform for the club and may access the information in your account (your name, email address, phone number, the classes you book and the kinds of classes you like) to run, support, secure and improve the service, to prevent abuse, to produce statistics, and to develop future services. Statistics that are aggregated or de-identified, so that they cannot reasonably identify you, may be used and shared for any lawful purpose.
Offers. By creating an account you agree to our terms, which include that we may use information that identifies you (your email address, phone number and the kinds of classes you like) to send you offers from MIC FIT and its partners, and may let those partners reach you. If you do not agree, please do not create an account, or close it in Settings. We will update this page before we use your information in a way that this section does not cover.
Who we share it with
- The club you join: its owner, managers and instructors see what they need to run your classes, including your contact details, your bookings and your note for the instructor.
- Other members see your name on a class or a challenge only if you allow it, in Settings under “Who can see me on classes and challenges”: my friends, everyone, or no one. The default is no one.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf, under contract, and may not use it for anything else: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (text messages with your sign-in code), Resend (sign-in emails, calendar invitations and class emails), and your phone’s own push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) for notifications you turn on.
- When the law requires it: to comply with a legal obligation or a lawful request, or to protect the rights and safety of members, the club or the public.
Cookies
The app uses a small number of cookies, all set by us: the cookie that keeps you signed in, one that remembers which view you chose if you hold more than one role, and one that remembers which welcome line you saw last. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics or tracking.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Messages and notifications are kept with your account. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period, measured in days. When you delete your account, your name, email, phone, date of birth, address, emergency contact, note for the instructor, friends, challenge days and sign-in are removed straight away. Records the club is required to keep for its accounts, such as that a pack was paid for, are kept without your name on them.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Access inside the club is limited by role: an instructor sees their own classes, a manager the club’s. Sign-in uses one-time links and codes rather than passwords, so there is no password of yours for us to lose.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details at any time in the app under Settings.
- Choose who can see you on classes and challenges, and switch notifications, calendar invitations and reminders on or off, all in Settings.
- Delete your account yourself, from Settings, or ask us to. See how to delete your data. Signing out of Google or Facebook does not delete anything here; deleting your account does.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or object to how it is used, by writing to the address below. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law, and we honour them.
Children
The app is for members of a fitness club and is not directed at children. A club decides its own age rules when it admits a member. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent; if you believe we have, write to us and it will be removed.
Changes to this policy
When the app changes in a way that affects your data, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. A change that matters is also announced in the app.
Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: write to shahar.business@gmail.com. Signed in, you can also tap the message bubble in the app; your message goes to the people who run the app and the club.
